Remo Stars Crowned NPFL Champions for 2024/2025
In a historic triumph, Remo Stars have emerged as the champions of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. Under the astute leadership of coach Daniel Ogunmodede, the Ikenne-based club secured their maiden NPFL title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes at the Remo Stars Stadium on Sunday.
The decisive moment came six minutes from time when Olamilekan Adedayo found the back of the net, sparking jubilant celebrations among fans and players alike. This victory not only marks a significant milestone for Remo Stars but also etches their name in the annals of Nigerian football history.
Remo Stars have become the first privately owned club to clinch the NPFL title since Udoji United achieved the feat in 1996. Furthermore, this is the first time in two decades that a South West club has claimed the prestigious title, following the now-defunct Julius Berger's triumph.
With 68 points from 35 matches, Remo Stars sit comfortably atop the standings, leaving second-placed Rivers United trailing with 58 points from the same number of games. This remarkable achievement underscores the team's consistency and resilience throughout the season.
