As part of National Baby Safety Month, the retail giant is currently offering customers a $30 gift card if they trade-in their old car seat at one of nearly 4,000 US stores.

The deal runs until September 30 and all products exchanged will be reprocessed by TerraCycle, a New Jersey-based outfit that specializes in hard-to-recycle goods.

You can find your nearest participating Walmart outlet by searching here, after which you simply need to head down with the car seat you want to get rid of and take it to the store's customer service desk.

Gift cards can be used for in-store purchases or shopping online, but note that there is a limit of two exchanges per household and that booster seats are not eligible for the offer.
