Police step up fight against illegal immigration in Cabinda
The pledge came from general commander of National Police, Chief Commissioner Paulo Gaspar de Almeida, during his visit to the northern Cabinda province.
In order to ensure the inviolability of the land, river and sea borders with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Republic of the Congo, the commander spoke of the use of night surveillance devices, observation posts, drones and the increase in transport and staff.
The Chief Commissioner Paulo Gaspar de Almeida, who visited the land borders of Massabi and the Tchichissi river border with Congo Brazaville, expressed satisfaction with the readiness of the staff to prevent illegal immigration and trafficking of the fuels.
The commander recommended the population to strictly abide by the rules on combat Covid-19 pandemic.
Paulo de Almeida, who was accompanied by the commander and delegate of the Ministry of the Interior in Cabinda, Commissioner Eusébio Domingos e Costa, visited the land borders of Yema and Tendequela and the maritime observation post of Luvassa Sul, with the DRC, and Massabi and Tchichissi.
