Abia State Govt of Nigeria Prohibit street trading along Faulks Road Aba City

Stella Dimoko Korkus.com: Governor Ikpeazu Visits Port Harcourt Road In Aba

Abia State Government has observed with dismay that some traders have turned Faulks Road by SAMEK down to A line Gate Ariaria to a massive street trading area. This act is not only defacing the newly reconstructed Faulks Road but a huge source of environmental degradation.

Regrettably, these traders in the process, generate tons of refuse which they use in blocking the drainages in the most indiscriminate manner thereby exposing the area to flood.

The street traders are hereby advised to move their wares to unoccupied shops in Free zone Ariaria and other areas designated for trading. In the same vein, commercial vehicle operators are warned to stop operations along Faulks Road and move to the parks within and around the market.

HIS EXCELLENCY, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D has directed the Ministry of Trade and Investment to liaise with the President of Abia State Market Traders Association (ASMATA), Chairman of Ariaria International Market, Traffic & Indiscipline Management Agency Abia State (TIMAAS) and other security agencies to fish out offenders and prosecute accordingly.

For emphasis, SAMEK to A line gate is henceforth a no trading, no loading and no parking zone. Members of the public should take note.

Rt. Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe Ph.D
Hon. Commissioner
