Court suspend Prince Uche Secondus as People's Democratic Party National Chairman

A High Court in Degema, Rivers State, has sacked the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus.

The order was issued by vacation Judge, Justice O. Gbasam.

The Court in an exparte order brought before it by some aggrieved members of the PDP also sacked Mr.Secondus as a member of the PDP pending the determination of the suit before him.

Binnabook Magazine recalls that a lingering crises rocking the main opposition party had resulted in serious calls for the resignation of Mr.Secondus.

However, Secondus after a meeting with relevant stakeholders have settled for an earlier convention in October where He is expected not to seek reelection.

The granting of this exparte order by a Court in RIvers State further adds fire to the rumuour that Gov.Nyesom Wike who was instrumental to the emergence of Mr.Secondus is hell-bent of pushing him out of office over irreconcillable differences.

HOW PDP NATIONAL CHAIRMAN WAS SACK

Prince Uche Secondus, the now suspended National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party was suspended by his ward chapter.

The suspension was ratified by Andoni LGA chapter, where he hails from.

The suspension was also ratified by the Rivers State Executive Committee of PDP.

On this above ground, it became lawful for the court to grant the prayers seeking restraining of Secondus because a suspended member of the party cannot function in any capacity as he has lost all rights and privileges by the suspension.

Let's also recall that a former national chairman of PDP, Dr Nwodo, also lost his position due to issues he had with his ward chapter.
