Glazer family set £4billion Manchester United Valuation Price

The Glazer family, which owns Manchester United, will reportedly ask for £4billion to walk away from the Old Trafford club.

American businessmen Joel and Avram Glazer have come in for fierce criticism for their role in European Super League plans. The former had announced himself as the vice-chairman of the new competition, which spectacularly failed. As such, the pressure on the owners has mounted from fans, not just from United.

However, Red Devils fans have made their feelings known. A group of supporters protested outside the club’s Carrington training complex on Thursday.

Furthermore, a plane with a ‘Glazers Out’ message flew over Elland Road ahead of Sunday’s clash with Leeds.

Nevertheless, the family have proved stubborn in their desire to maintain ties with United since taking over in 2005.

Indeed, the Sunday Mirror now claims that the owners will demand £4billion to walk away from the club.

They paid £790million to begin their association with United, meaning that they would be in for a big profit if they did sell up.

As for the reasons for their valuation, the Glazers feel that they would have earned if the Super League plan had come to fruition.

What’s more, the family feels that the £4billion justifies United’s ‘unique heritage’ and ‘commercial pulling power’ that keeps the club at the commercial forefront.

The Red Devils have signed lucrative deals with Chevrolet and adidas in recent years for their kits.

United have also paid Germany-based technology firm TeamViewer £235million for a five-year shirt sponsorship deal from next season.
