Arsenal beat Man City on penalties to win the Community Shield Cup

Arsenal beat Man City on penalties to win the Community Shield cup on Sunday. It was a thrilling match that ended 1-1 in regulation time and went to a shootout.

Arsenal showed great composure and accuracy in their penalties, while Man City missed two of theirs. Arsenal's goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was the hero of the day, saving Rodri's spot kick and also making some crucial saves during the match. He was named the man of the match for his performance.

Arsenal's new signings also impressed in their debut. Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber all started the match and played well. Havertz had some good chances to score, Rice controlled the midfield, and Timber defended solidly. They seem to have adapted well to Mikel Arteta's system and style of play.

Man City were not at their best, but they still had some moments of brilliance. Cole Palmer scored a stunning goal in the 79th minute to give them the lead, but they could not hold on to it.

Erling Haaland had a quiet game and did not have a single shot on target. Kevin De Bruyne came on as a substitute and hit the crossbar with his penalty.

The Community Shield is a traditional curtain-raiser for the Premier League season, which starts next week. Arsenal will hope to carry their momentum and confidence into their opening match against Brentford on Friday. Man City will look to bounce back and defend their title when they face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
