 Congratulations to D'Tigress for winning the AfroBasket Women championship for the fourth consecutive time . 

They have shown great skill and determination throughout the tournament, and they deserve to celebrate their achievement.

D'Tigress  Africa Champions

D'Tigress beat Senegal by 78-70 in the final match at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

They have now won six championships overall and have dominated the African women's basketball scene since 2017.

D'Tigress coach who led them to the championship in Rwanda. Her name is Rena Wakama, and she is a former Nigerian national team player and a current assistant coach at Stony Brooks University, New York, U.S.

She was appointed as the head coach of D'Tigress less than a month before the 2023 Women's Afrobasket tournament in Rwanda. She became the first female coach to win the competition since its inception in 1966. She led D'Tigress to their fourth consecutive and sixth overall title, defeating Senegal by 78-70 in the final match. 

Rena Wakama

She is a refreshing change to male dominance of women's basketball in Africa and a role model for many young girls who aspire to play or coach basketball.
